After the success of the first three editions, Giornata della Ristorazione returns for the fourth consecutive year. The initiative, awarded in 2023 with the Medal of the President of the Republic for its high symbolic value and sponsored by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, and the Ministry of Culture, is confirmed as a popular, inclusive, supportive and deeply ethical event, aimed at celebrating a renewed sense of community through the enhancement of the culture of Italian hospitality.

Proposed legislation on the GoR
As FIPE we express our appreciation for the continuation of the parliamentary work on the Bill on the establishment of the Giornata della Ristorazione presented on January 29 in the Chamber of Deputies, first signatory the Hon. Luca Squeri. The great interest received by the initiative, as emerged yesterday from the discussion and approval at the 10th Commission on Productive Activities, Commerce and Tourism of the Chamber, testifies to the value of the proposal in recognizing the Giornata della Ristorazione as an event of national interest aimed at enhancing the economic and social role of catering. We hope that in the continuation of the parliamentary debate the legislative proposal will be successfully completed.

Nutrition Education in Schools
This year’s Giornata della Ristorazione establishes itself as an important cultural initiative by emphasizing the deep link between education and catering. FIPE is leading an extraordinary ethical and cultural task: to bring young people closer to the awareness of the profound meaning of Italian catering. The goal of the activities organized in schools is to promote the growth of an aware generation capable of enhancing the culture of hospitality.
Chefs and entrepreneurs from the world of catering will meet with schoolchildren, including elementary and middle schools, present throughout Italy. Each personality will be the spokesperson for a special theme aimed at conveying to children the importance of the link between memory, emotions and food.
